Friends for Life

35 years of caring!

For 35 years, Friends for Life has given hope and help to seniors and people with disabilities, empowering them to live their best lives as independently as possible.

With almost 100 employees in 80 Texas counties, Friends for Life is now reaching out to help more people every day.

Friends for Life services include quality-of-life programs, independent living assistance, guardianship, money management, adult day services, life skills training and care coordination. Learning labs teach those with disabilities basic computer skills, reading, simple math and how to tell time. For seniors, Friends for Life is developing fraud safety services and training to prevent exploitation.

Appointed by courts in counties across Texas, Friends for Life serves as guardian for people who lack capacity if there is no family qualified and willing to serve. They provide money management services to people who are not able to pay their bills which prevents homelessness, hunger and helps stop exploitation. The Adult Day Center provides opportunities for social skill development, on site and community activities, volunteering, meals and transportation. Friends for Life organizes volunteers who help seniors live as independently as possible and improve the quality of their lives. By expanding their telephone reassurance program, they are reaching more homebound seniors with weekly calls to reduce loneliness and make sure they are safe.

Volunteer with Friends for Life and change lives. Let someone know you care. Call a lonely homebound senior, take someone to the doctor, mow a yard, make minor household repairs, deliver gifts, grocery shop, assist clients in learning labs, help clients play bingo, read to the blind or help through any of their other volunteer opportunities.
