Farmer Veteran Coalition

Cultivating Veterans to Feed America

Farmer Veteran Coalition is marking its 15th year overall and second year with its national headquarters in Central Texas. FVC moved its offices to Texas from California to better serve its entire membership, which now numbers more than 48,000 throughout the United States and its territories.

FVC assists military Veterans transition into either careers in the agricultural sector or aids them in starting a farm or ranch operation. These new producers work toward replacing the nation’s retiring farmers while finding a meaningful new purpose and obtaining financial stability.

Through its partnerships, FVC helps members with a Fellowship Fund program that provides grants to assist their agricultural operations as well as discounts. Its Homegrown By Heroes label promotes food produced by members. Additional benefits include mentorship opportunities, access to an online sales platform, and training programs.

FVC believes that Veterans possess the unique skills and character needed to strengthen rural communities and create sustainable food systems. Members have proven that agriculture offers purpose, opportunity, and physical and psychological benefits for them.
