Happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend Waco! There are plenty of festivities for this holiday along with plays, art exhibits, fundraisers, concerts for the weekend as well. Wherever you choose to explore in Waco, be sure to tag us @Wacoan and use #WacoWeekend for a chance to be featured.

Spring Silent Auction 

Come to the Hewitt Public Library, 200 Patriot Court, and place your bid on a favorite Easter basket or any other Spring item. Auction begins at 9:30 a.m. on March 14th and ends at 2 p.m. March 23rd.

Spring at the Silos

Join Magnolia, 601 Webster Ave., for Spring at the Silos! Enjoy the garden in full bloom, new menu flavors, live music, guided tours and artists creating in real-time across the grounds on Friday and Saturday. Read our blog to learn more about this event.

“Rabbit Hole”

Mission Waco’s Jubilee Theatre, 1319 N 15th St., presents “Rabbit Hole.” This show is from March 15—17th and tickets can be purchased here.

“The Lightning Thief”

Waco Civic Theatre presents “The Lightning Thief”, a tale of a boy trying to find the Greek God Zues’s lightning bolt. This show is from March 15—24 with plenty of showtime’s to catch. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

St. Patrick’s Day Blowout

Barnett’s Whiskey House, 420 Franklin Ave., is throwing a legendary St. Patrick’s Day Blowout on March 16th from 11 a.m. to Midnight and March 17th from 4 p.m. until the party ends! Enjoy live music, drinks, an Irish-themed menu, this event is free and open to the public.

St. Patrick’s Day Party on the Patio

Party on Pivovar’s patio, 320 S 8th St., to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! There will be schnitzel and beers all day long, this event is free and open to the public.

“Qohelet: Searching for a Life Worth Living”

Art Center Waco, 701 S 8th St., has a brand new exhibit featuring artist Debra Band. This exhibit is free and open to the public and is open until March 16th.

“The Long Way Home” at 507 Gallery 

507 Gallery, located in Thrst Coffee Shop, 1500 Colcord Ave., has a new exhibit on display until March 15th! This exhibit features photos from photographer Brittany Wood. “The Long Way Home” is free and open to the public and you might as well grab a coffee while you look!

Martin Museum of Art Exhibitions 

The Martin Museum of Art, 60 Baylor Ave., has two exhibits, “In Pursuit of Light” and “Biennial Faculty Exhibition” that are free and open to the public! For hours and information about each exhibit, visit their website.

“Journey to Space” 

Climb aboard and experience what it is like to live and work in space at the Mayborn Museum “Journey to Space” exhibit. Visitors will explore the extraordinary environment of space, including the very real dangers that astronauts face during their missions above Earth.

“A New Moon Rises”

The Mayborn Museum, 1300 S University parks Dr., is hosting a new exhibit filled with highly detailed photographs of the moon. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore dramatic landscapes, majestic mountain ranges, lunar poles and much more.

Thursday, March 14

Family Storytime

Once school and the workday are done, enjoy some time with your favorite people at your favorite place — the West Waco library, 5301 Bosque Blvd. from 6:30—7:30 p.m.! Listen to stories, sing songs together and maybe even play with puppets, so pop in for some fun.

Boot Scootin’ Dance Club

If you’re a cowboy, cowgirl or someone who enjoys country music and dancing, the Boot Scootin’ Dance Club is the place to be. Styles of dance include two steps, polka, waltzes and a special appearance—the chicken dance. Guests will meet at the Sul Ross Senior Center, 1414 Jefferson Avenue, from 7—9:15 p.m. there is a $6 cover charge.

Darts Tournament 

Clicks’ Billiards, 1200 Richland Dr., is hosting its weekly darts tournament starting at 7 p.m.

Trivia Night

It’s Thursday which means it’s Trivia Night at Brotherwell Brewing, located at 400 E Bridge St. Trivia is from 7—9:30 p.m. and each week covers different trivia topics. Be sure to bring a team that has a wide variety of knowledge!

Karaoke Night at Lakeside Bar

It’s Karaoke night at Lakeside Bar & Live Music, 6605 Airport Road.! Karaoke starts at 8 p.m.

College Night

Thursday night is college night at the Freight Bar, 1613 James Ave. Kick off the weekend early with drink specials and DJ Euby starting at 10 p.m.!

Friday, March 15

Kids College Fridays

McLennan Community College, located at 4601 N 19th St., is hosting Kids College Friday every Friday until May 17th. Your kids can take culinary, arts, gardening and computer classes for $115 per month. For registration information visit their website or call 254-299-8888.

Maker’s Edge Studio Launch 

From 5—8 p.m., Maker’s Edge, 1211 Webster Ave., invites everyone to join us for their official Studio Launch! Stop by and take a walk through the new space, meet with our team of amazing Imaginators, learn about upcoming workshops and events, and see what our Creation Studio has to offer. This event is free and open to the public.

Mayborn’s Mammoth Masquerade

Texas Country Dance Nights

Get ready to two-step under the Texas stars at Barnett’s Whiskey House, 420 Franklin Ave. every Friday night! Texas Country Nights are here to bring you boot-scootin’ tunes, ice-cold brews, and delicious eats in a lively downtown setting from 8—11 p.m. No tickets required.

Saturday, March 16

Waco Downtown Farmers Market

The Waco Downtown Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m.—1 p.m. The market features locally grown and produced goods from farmers and artisans within 150 miles of Waco, plus live music and a featured local organization each week. The market is located at the McLennan County Courthouse parking lot at 500 Washington Ave. Visit their website to view a calendar of upcoming events.

Painting the Spring 

Ms. Bonnie at Art Center Waco, 701 S 8th St., is hosting two painting workshops! Your kiddos can create a picturesque Spring scene for only $15. The workshop for 5-9 year olds begins at 10 a.m. and the older class 10-14 begins at 1 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here.

Ramble & Co., 216 S 11th St., is hosting their Spring Maker’s Market featuring local artisans, vendors and crafts. This event is free and open to the public.

Farm to Table VIP Dinner

Join “Fighting for Family” authors Chris and Julie Bennett for a private dinner at Milo, 1020 Franklin Ave. Tickets include dinner at Milo with Chris and Julie, a copy of their book, and admission to their Release Party at Common Grounds Coffee Shop with drinks, desserts, and live music. Belles and Brass
