10 Things to do in Waco This Weekend

Cheers to the weekend! Happy to report that the weather is looking promising for the rest of weekend. With that being said, avoid staying in and get out and explore the fun events that are going in Waco like H-E-B Zoo Stampede, night of worship with Kari Jobe, the Veterans Day Parade and so much more! Read below to find a few fun events to do with friends and family this weekend! 1. Check out the 2019 Brazos Fine Art Show and Sale at the Hilton Waco Hotel, hosted by the Professional Artists of Central Texas, November 8-10, 2019. Admission to attend the show is free. The hours of operation are 7-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
 
2. Celebrate the Day of the Dead (Día de Los Muertos) at the 9th Annual Traveling Ofrenda with food, music and art to enjoy at The Yellow House at 402 Tyler Street until Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information on the event click here.
 
3. Get ready to laugh at Balcones Distilling with the Distillery Comedy Tour happening Thursday from 7:30-10:30p.m. Tickets cost $9 and can be purchased here.
 
4. Celebrate Veterans Day a little early at The Stars Over Texas Jamboree’s “Salute to Veterans Edition” at the Lee Lockwood Library & Museum at 7 p.m. Thursday. General admission costs $14, $12 for seniors, free for those under 12 years old and veterans receive a half-price discount. For more information click here.
 
5. Hear Kari Jobe perform her music live for the Night of Worship with Kari Jobe and Restoration Gateway at Antioch Community Church and hear about the work of Restoration Gateway at 7 p.m. Friday. To learn more or purchase tickets, click here.
 
6. Get your run on for the animals at the 26th Annual H-E-B Zoo Stampede! Run a 5k, 10k or 1k at Cameron Park Zoo starting at 8 a.m. Saturday. Following the race, participants and the community can enjoy the Zoo’s Annual Wildlife Wonderland Experience. For registration information click here.
 
7. What’s a Saturday morning without stopping by the Waco Downtown Farmers Market? There are so many delicious foods to buy from local vendors. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 
8. Willow City, a band of four siblings with a love of music will perform Saturday at the Jubilee Theatre at 7 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets and learn more about the band!
 
9. Join New York Times bestselling author Brian Kilmeade for a book signing and talk for his book, “Sam Houston and the Alamo Avengers” at the Lee Lockwood Library from 4-6p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
 
10. Honor our country’s veterans at the Veteran’s Day Parade Monday. The parade begins at Austin Avenue and 13th Street at 11 a.m. For more information, call 855-3655.
