As we count down the days to Christmas, we have scouted the top 10 events happening in Waco this weekend! 1. Kickoff Waco Wonderland, a month-long celebration of all things Christmas, with the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks show Friday from 6:45-7:30 p.m. at Heritage Square. Enjoy a variety of festivities like a Ferris wheel, a snow tube hill and more! Also, don’t forget about the $5 carriage rides, The Mistletoe Market and delicious food from Waco’s top food trucks. 2. It’s time for the first weekend of Christmas at The Silos. Visit Santa, enjoy ice skating and concerts this Friday and Saturday. Visit magnolia.com/events/christmas-at-the-silos/ for details on times and ticket prices. Don’t miss the special treat for Waco on locals night Wednesday, Dec. 4.
 
3. Enjoy a holiday packed experience at Christmas at the Mayborn, Thursday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. There will be hands-on activities as well as a visit from Santa and a model train display from Central Texas Area Model Railroaders. For more, visit baylor.edu/mayborn.
 
4. Jingle along to Stars Over Texas Jamboree 10th annual Christmas edition performance Thursday at Lee Lockwood Library and Museum. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $14 each, $12 for seniors, $10 for students and children under 12 are free. 5. Bundle up in something warm and festive and come watch the Wonderland Parade. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at 11th Street and will travel down Third Street. For more information, click here.
 
6. The First Friday of the month is a big deal in Downtown Waco. Spend your night strolling through the streets as many businesses are open late and have planned fun activities that everyone will enjoy as well as discounts on food and beverages at participating restaurants. Stop by Cultivate 7Twelve on Austin Avenue for a special 2nd Birthday celebration complete with cake and champagne!
 
7. Enjoy some of your favorite Christmas jams performed by a handful of amazing musicians like Josh Huser, John Dempsy, Lauren January and many more great talents at The Backyard’s second annual Backporch Christmas Special from 6-10 p.m. Sunday. Visit backyardwaco.com for more.
 
8. Balcones third annual Holiday Sip ‘N Shop takes place Friday and Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and 1-8 p.m. respectively. Enjoy great drinks and food while shopping from an assortment of local vendors and artisans. There will also be live music and raffle prizes to win! For details, click here.
 
9. Come celebrate the Christmas spirit with Baylor at their annual Christmas on 5th Street Thursday from 5-10 p.m. There are fun activities and performances to enjoy across campus like a petting zoo, carnival booths, tree lighting, selfies with Santa, a Christmas Marketplace to shop at, listen to Christmas choir performances, enjoy food from local food trucks and so much more! 10. Nothing like a morning well spent at the Waco Downtown Farmers Market! Come grab a delicious bite to eat from the variety of local food vendors and shop from local artisans and chat with your fellow Wacoans. The market is open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
