Waco ISD Education Foundation

Raising the Power of Education

The Waco ISD Education Foundation encourages excellence in public education by focusing on early childhood development, enhanced programming for advanced students, extended education for staff and emphasis on student performance. This year, the Waco ISD Education Foundation awarded nearly $112,000 in grants to educators for innovative and creative projects. The foundation is supported by fundraising drives, events and campaigns that involve alumni, local businesses, parents, district staff and the Waco community. In addition to providing funds for the classrooms of Waco ISD, the foundation also functions as the umbrella organization for the Waco Public Schools Alumni Association and manages the prestigious Dorothy Crippen Hurd Scholarship. The foundation’s primary fundraiser, the annual H-E-B Celebrity Cookoff, raised its millionth dollar in 2018 and looks to celebrate its 13th year in 2019.
