Waco Cultural Arts Fest

Enriching the Waco community through the arts

For 13 years, Doreen Ravenscroft, the founder and executive director of Cultural Arts Waco, has advocated for the ideals of the original Waco Cultural Arts Festival: Enriching the Waco community through the arts. She has broadened this mission over time by expanding the annual fall festival into six areas and adding other programs. WCAF now includes ArtsFest, MusicFest, WordFest, {254}DanceFest, ScienceFest, and FilmFest-Celebration Africa, to be held in 2016 from Sept. 30- Oct. 2. Other programs include Art on Elm Avenue in spring (April 8, 2017), educational programs and major public artworks like “Branding the Brazos” Chisholm Trail Heritage in Indian Spring Park and the Doris Miller Memorial. The newest initiative of Cultural Arts Waco will a community arts hub in East Waco called ArtPlace.
