The Salvation Army Waco

Serving McLennan County

The Salvation Army helps individuals and families across McLennan County as they rebuild their lives. Emergency shelters for men, women and families, the community kitchen, apartments for seniors and the handicapped, rehousing programs for homeless veterans, individuals and families, homelessness prevention services, an inmate re-integration program, youth and music activities, fellowship groups, disaster services, food pantry, worship services at Corps church and other programs help meet needs of those left behind by a prospering community or affected by disaster or crisis. Case management, financial relief and educational programs and community partnerships help identify long-term pathways for self-sufficiency. Holiday programs, including a partnership with Toys for Tots, help make holidays happy for thousands of children each year. Free Adult Rehabilitation Centers helps combat the scourge of addiction. A longstanding promise to “do the most good for the most people in the most need,” is equaled only to the promise to “do the most good” with contributions of dollars, resources and time from this generous community, all while serving in His name, without discrimination.
