Texas Oncology in Waco

Comprehensive cancer care

Congratulations to Texas Oncology–Waco on winning Best of Waco for Oncology Practice and Texas Oncology–Waco oncologist Carl Chakmakjian, named Waco’s Best Oncologist. Texas Oncology oncologists Thomas J. Harris and Ofobuike N. Okani placed second and third, respectively, in the Oncologist category. At Texas Oncology, they believe patients deserve access to the best cancer care available, the confidence to fight and the resources to keep fighting. Texas Oncology provides comprehensive, evidence-based treatment at two locations in Waco. Both Waco locations offer medical oncology, including chemotherapy and infusion. Texas Oncology–Waco also offers leading-edge radiation oncology. Diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and pharmacies are close at hand to make the process more manageable. Support groups, financial counseling and genetic risk evaluation and testing are also available. Additionally, Texas Oncology is involved in more than 1,000 clinical trials, phases I-IV, focused on preventing cancer and its recurrence. Knowledgeable physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare members work as a team to customize treatment for each patient’s condition. They have years of experience in treating cancer and blood disorders and remain by the patient’s side throughout treatment. Most patients receive care in an outpatient setting so they can stay near their support system of family and friends. Texas Oncology provides compassionate care for more than 50,000 new cancer patients every year. They have an extensive network of more than 420 physicians and 175 locations throughout the state.
