Poppa Rollo’s Pizza

Serving the Best Pizza Since 1969

In 1964, Roland Duty got a job working at Pepe’s Pizza in Waco. Then, while attending school part time, Roland purchased two of the Pepe’s Pizza locations: one at the former “Golden Triangle” on Valley Mills Drive and one near Baylor University. In 1969, he changed the name of the business, and Poppa Rollo’s Pizza was born. Roland moved Poppa Rollo’s to the flagship location on Valley Mills Drive in 1979. That’s the same year Roland married his wife Mary, who also worked at the restaurant. Mary and Roland raised five children, and each have contributed to the business in some way. Last spring, Justin Duty expanded Poppa Rollo’s by opening a second location on Hewitt Drive. At both locations, the pizzas are handmade to order, using only the finest and freshest ingredients. Poppa Rollo’s pizza sauce is made from scratch with a special blend of herbs and spices. The staff uses only the finest mozzarella cheese made from whole milk. The vegetables are always fresh — never from a can. Poppa Rollo’s also offers salads, Healthlite Pizza and gluten-free crust. For the customers’ convenience, Poppa Rollo’s offers a drive-thru in both locations. An online ordering option will be available soon. Poppa Rollo’s can also cater events, birthday parties and lunch at the office. Come see why Poppa Rollo’s won best pizza in Waco!
