Q: Do you have any study tips?
A: I like to listen to music while I study. Sometimes I’ll use flash cards.
Q: What is one thing you wish you’d known in your freshman year of high school?
A: I wish I knew more about what college is going to be like. Right now, I feel prepared for college, but not as much as I want to be.
Q: What is the best lesson you’ve learned from a teacher?
A: I’ve learned that hard work really does pay off.
Q: What are your school and community involvements?
A: I play tuba for the band, and I’m the class president. I’m vice president of National Honor Society. I’m involved in UIL academics in calculator applications. I work at H-E-B in Bellmead. We do a lot of community service at H-E-B. We just volunteered at Food for Families.
Q: With a busy schedule, what do you do to unwind?
A: One of my teachers taught us how to meditate. Ramon Carillo, the assistant band director, taught us the six-step process of meditation.
Q: What do you plan to do after graduation?
A: I’m not sure which college I’ll attend. I’m looking at University of Texas at Arlington. I’m deciding whether I want to study electrical engineering or secondary education.
