Saving Lives By Finding Solutions
The National Injury Prevention Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to minimizing injury and death due to accidental injuries. Founded by Kim and David Hodges in 2011, their goal is to bring awareness to the epidemic of accidental injuries and its impact on the community. Kim’s son Brandon died in 1999 in a backyard pool drowning. After Brandon’s death, Kim began working in injury prevention to help other parents understand that unintentional injury, like drowning, can be predicted and prevented. The NIPC was created so that other families would not have to suffer the loss of a loved one from an unintentional injury. Brandon’s legacy is saving lives through education and programs that bring awareness to the community. Visit their website to learn more.
