Q: Do you have any study tips?
A: Study early — don’t wait until the last minute. Take good notes in class. If a teacher emphasizes something, be sure to write it down.
Q: What is one thing you wish you’d known in your freshman year of high school?
A: I remember everyone telling me time would fly by. I didn’t believe them, but it does.
Q: What is the best lesson you’ve learned from a teacher?
A: Coach Gee, my basketball coach, has always emphasized that you can’t focus on the bad things. Focus on the good.
Q: What are your school and community involvements?
A: I am the secretary of National Honor Society. I’m in Spirit Leaders, and I’m the captain of my basketball team. I’m involved in student council.
Last summer, I volunteered at the Cameron Park Zoo. We have to earn service hours for National Honor Society, so I volunteer different places. I’ve volunteered at the Animal Birth Control Clinic.
Q: With a busy schedule, what do you do to unwind?
A: I’ll do something that gets my mind off of schoolwork. I’ll go on a walk or hang out with friends.
Q: What do you plan to do after graduation?
A: I’m going to the University of Texas. I want to study mechanical engineering. I want to study abroad while I’m in college.
