Equipping Children, Youth and Families to Flourish
The mission of Methodist Children’s Home (MCH) is to equip children, youth and families to flourish by offering hope through Christ-centered relationships, services and support. As an evidence-based, trauma-informed organization, MCH fosters individual growth through spiritual, physical and educational opportunities.
Founded in Waco in 1890, MCH provides residential care on its 130-acre campus, where residents and day students attend an accredited charter school. In addition to academics, students engage in spiritual development, athletics, clubs and outdoor education. The vocational building offers hands-on training in woodworking, welding and trade certificate programs. Young men with specialized, complex needs are served at the MCH Boys Ranch near Axtell, where they participate in education, spiritual development and other activities.
MCH Family Outreach provides community-based support across Texas and New Mexico. The MCH Family Outreach Center at 524 W. Waco Drive offers foster and kinship care and family preservation services, professional counseling, parent education, connections to community partners and support for individuals and families facing challenges. These free programs serve families with children ages 0–17, with the goal of strengthening families and helping each member flourish.
High school graduates under MCH care, including those served through MCH Family Outreach and Independent Living, can apply for scholarships. MCH also provides transitional support services for young adults pursuing higher education, job training or employment.
As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, MCH fulfills its mission through collaborations with like-minded organizations and generous benefactors.
