Waco High School
Q: Do you have any study tips?
A: Study in intervals. Study for 30 minutes and then take a break for five minutes. That gives you a chance to absorb what you’ve studied and a chance to decompress.
Q: What is one thing you wish you’d known in your freshman year of high school?
A: No matter what, do your best to see the good in people. You’ll surprise yourself and meet some incredible people if you allow yourself.
Q: What is the best lesson you’ve learned from a teacher?
A: I have a special teacher in my heart, Mr. Heller. He told us to strive to be the best we can be and to hold ourselves up to a higher standard.
Q: What are your school and community involvements?
A: I’m involved in theater. I’m the president of the National Honor Society. I run cross-country. I played soccer for three years.
I’m a part of Waco Youth Council. I go to Calvary Baptist Church.
Q: With a busy schedule, what do you do to unwind?
A: I ride horses. Anytime the stress seems overwhelming, I separate myself from my work and ride at the barn. I go to Highlander Ranch at [McLennan Community College].
Q: What do you plan to do after graduation?
A: I will be attending summer classes at MCC and then attending a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
