Jesse’s Tortilla Factory

Celebrating 59 years in business

Founded by Jesse Contreras in 1958 with only one cutter tortilla machine, the family-owned business has been a landmark on Webster Street in Downtown Waco for 59 years. The business is owned by Jesse’s wife, Esther. Her daughter Alicia Rodriguez and grandson Santos Rodriguez Jr. manage daily operations. Voted best tamales and tortillas, the team at Jesse’s prides itself on homemade chips and salsa, corn tortillas and tamales. The corn tortillas are made from scratch daily which guarantees a fresh, delicious product. Tamales are sold year-round and are very popular with Wacoans. Customers can choose between chicken, pork, spicy pork or beef tamales. The family suggests ordering early for Christmas. Jesse’s Tortilla Factory is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for take-out orders. Come in to purchase freshly made chips, salsa, corn tortillas and tamales for your home, gatherings or parties. The team is proud to be a family-owned business in downtown Waco and a consecutive Best of Waco winner!
