Q: Do you have any study tips?
A: Pay attention during class. That makes it easier to study later. I like to study with a group of people to allow different insights.
Q: What is one thing you wish you’d known in your freshman year of high school?
A: I’d tell myself to invest in sports and push myself.
Q: What is the best lesson you’ve learned from a teacher?
A: Care about what I’m learning. That drives me to listen and absorb the information.
Q: What are your school and community involvements?
A: I’m on the basketball team and National Honor Society. I’m going to be a part of the baseball team in the spring.
I’m a member of the youth group at Highland Baptist Church.
Q: With a busy schedule, what do you do to unwind?
A: If I’m feeling stressed, I’ll go run or play basketball. That requires all of my focus and physical abilities, so I can’t obsess over what I was stressing about.
Q: What do you plan to do after graduation?
A: I’m going to Baylor to be a pre-med biology student. I’m interested in endocrinology. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and working with endocrinologists has inspired me. It gave me a new light on what a doctor’s job is, and it inspired me to become one.
