Fuzzy Friends Rescue

Saving the Cats and Dogs of Central Texas

Fuzzy Friends Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter receiving more than 700 animals per year. Over 1,150 animals have been rescued from the City of Waco Shelter through the Pet Intake Sponsorship Program. All animals receive shelter, food, vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventions, and, when necessary, intensive medical care — just like Simba who was treated for demodectic mange and intestinal parasites. Once he was healthy, he was neutered and adopted into his forever home! Fuzzy Friends Rescue doesn’t believe that a broken leg, an injured eye, or any treatable medical problem should be a reason to die. This lifesaving work is made possible through donations and fundraising activities throughout the year. Community outreach programs include the READ program, where dogs visit at-risk students at local schools to help improve reading skills, and, upon request, Fuzzy Friends Rescue takes dogs to area nursing homes.
