Fuzzy Friends Rescue

Saving the Cats and Dogs of Central Texas

Fuzzy Friends Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter receiving more than 700 abandoned and unwanted animals per year. Over the past nine years over 1,015 animals have been rescued from the City of Waco Shelter through the Pet Intake Sponsorship Program. All animals receive shelter, food, vaccinations, heartworm test and, when necessary, intensive medical care — just like Romeo, the handsome rescue dog whose before-and-after photos are pictured with this profile. Fuzzy Friends Rescue doesn’t believe that a broken leg, an injured eye or any treatable medical problem should be a reason to die. This lifesaving work is made possible through donations from the public and fundraising activities throughout the year. Community outreach is provided through programs like the READ program, where dogs visit at-risk students at local schools to help improve reading skills. Upon request, Fuzzy Friends Rescue takes dogs to area nursing homes.
