Hope for the Generations
Friends for Life has served the elderly and people with disabilities for almost 28 years. Staff and volunteers meet the needs of the community through a continuum of care from independent living and quality of life programs to money management, guardianship and adult day care. Friends for Life recruits, trains and organizes volunteers to help people live independently as long as possible. Lonely people know someone cares because of Adopt a Grandparent, Gifts for Grannies And Grandpas, Too, Friends for Thanksgiving and other quality of life programs. Friends for Life offers guardianship services in 83 Texas counties when judges determine a person lacks capacity and there’s no qualified family member to serve. Money management staff intercede with creditors, help with budgets, balance checkbooks and help pay bills. The Adult Day Care Center provides nursing care, meals, transportation, activities, exercise and more from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
