Charity Champions

Eight years strong, and we’re just getting started!

Helping those who help others. That’s one of the core values of TFNB Your Bank for Life—and their Charity Champions initiative is a living testament to that value. Now in its 8th year, Charity Champions continues to recognize and promote deserving nonprofits in Central Texas. The program was launched in 2014 as a way to give back to the community and bring awareness to the impactful work being done by nonprofits in Central Texas. Since the inception of Charity Champions, TFNB has named more than 40 recipients chosen from nominations submitted by the public. Organizations receive public recognition at Baylor football and basketball games, promotional video services, and podcast recordings. The philosophy of, “Once a Champion, Always a Champion” has helped provide all of these nonprofits with ongoing support and accolades—which has always been critical, especially during COVID—when the needs were greater than ever.
The 2022-2023 Charity Champions, and a brief description of what they do, are:
Community Cancer Association believes no one should face cancer alone. For more than 50 years, the CCA has helped support the medical, emotional, and financial needs of cancer patients in Central Texas.
Council for Life Central Texas exists to empower women, men, and youth to make life-affirming choices. CFL is committed to raising public awareness of the complex issues that surround unplanned pregnancies and providing financial support to agencies that share our vision.

Grassroots Community Development’s mission is to build a brighter future for Wacoans through homeownership, educational programs, and leadership training. Since being established, Grassroots has built over 65 homes, helped over 335 individuals become new homeowners, and provided financial literacy education to almost 2500 individuals.
Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition works to end homelessness and housing instability in Central Texas. Through community engagement, housing programs, crisis intervention, and other support services, they help people experiencing homelessness build new lives.
REACH Therapeutic Riding Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs. Since 2008, they’ve been helping special needs children and adults, as well as veterans, heal and overcome their challenges.
Waco Symphony Association presents a live, professional symphony orchestra, with both classical and pops concerts featuring world-renowned soloists. These concerts contribute to the cultural life of Waco and Central Texas, and promote music education to both students and adults.
