Q: What are your study tips?
A: Go somewhere where you can be free of distractions and focus on what you are doing.
Q: What is one thing you wish you’d known in your freshman year?
A: I wish I would’ve known how busy it was going to get senior year so I could’ve started looking at colleges a bit sooner and looking at scholarships and things like that.
Q: What is the best lesson you’ve learned from a teacher?
A: The first time I met our former dean of students, he told me that you have no other shoes to fill but your own.
Q: What are your school and community involvements?
A: I’m currently student body vice president, and I’m president of our National Honor Society. I’m a member of Key Club, and I’m a part of Phi Beta Kappa at MCC. I’m also a part of PALs. Outside of school, I work at my family’s food truck, Xristo’s Café. I intern at Hillcrest over the summer, and I shadowed neurosurgeons over Christmas break.
Q: What do you plan to do after graduation?
A: I’m planning on pursuing a degree in neuroscience and plan to go to medical school to become a neurosurgeon.
Q: What has been your favorite subject?
A: I really enjoyed taking anatomy. It was a really difficult course, but worth it.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment thus far?
A: Upon my high school graduation, I’m on track to graduate with my associate degree in science as well.
