Every Child Has a Chance – It’s You
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McLennan County has been proudly recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in foster care since 1994. Today, they are one of over 70 programs affiliated through the Texas CASA network, with approximately 80 volunteers advocating for almost 200 children annually. However, with over 500 children in the McLennan County foster care system, they need many more volunteers and supporters in order to reach their vision of having an advocate for every child who needs one.
CASA seeks advocates whose identity and experience mirrors the children they serve in order to provide informed, quality advocacy in the courtroom and in the community. They believe that every McLennan County child brought into the foster care system by abuse or neglect deserves the chance to thrive in a safe and permanent home. For every child who needs a hand, we envision a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
This program has made a significant impact over the past 26 years, and they are working to double their efforts over the next five years so that even more children can ultimately thrive in safe, permanent homes.
