Beyond Hunger to Hope
Caritas of Waco provides urgent support to individuals and families facing hardship. Since 1967, the organization has been a cornerstone of the community — serving first and foremost as a food pantry while offering supplemental food resources to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
In 2025, Caritas served more than 120,000 individuals and distributed over 4 million pounds of food through its pantry, with an additional 1 million pounds shared with local nonprofit partners.
Over the past 59 years, Caritas has grown to meet the community’s most pressing needs. Services include intensive case management, federal benefits assistance, workforce and life-skills training, emergency financial assistance and veterans case management. In 2025 alone, Caritas provided more than $364,000 in rent and utility assistance to help stabilize households.
