Baylor’s University for Young People (UYP) is a summer enrichment program for high-ability/gifted and talented students. On Baylor’s campus, UYP is offered for three one-week sessions. Rising fourth through 12th graders can attend June 4-8, June 11-15 and/or June 18-22. Courses start at 9:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. The cost is $70 per course plus one annual $20 supply fee per child. Alternatively, an all-day UYP option is $250 per week and includes two courses, lunch and recreation. Primary UYP for rising first through fourth graders will meet at Hillcrest PDS for the “Exploring Structures” creative problem-solving camp from June 4-8 and “Discovering Ideas with Technology” camp where students apply technology to real-world challenges from June 11-15. Both camps are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and each camp costs $170 plus one annual $20 supply fee per student. New UYP applicants pay a one-time $15 application fee.
