Allergy & Asthma Center; Allergy Asthma Research Institute

Providing Comprehensive Specialty Care Since 1982

The Allergy & Asthma Center has been providing comprehensive specialty care since 1982. The clinic is the premier center for allergies, asthma and respiratory disorders in the Central Texas area. Dr. N.J. Amar, Dr. Ephraim Thaller and Dr. Neil Amar are all board certified in allergy and immunology and have more than 55 years of combined experience. They are one of the few practices in Texas where all physicians have been recognized as Super Doctors for a number of years. The doctors have also earned other accolades including being voted “Best of Waco” for 10 consecutive years. Although the main clinic is located in Waco, they also operate weekly satellite clinics in Mexia, Hillsboro and Gatesville. They have a state-of-the-art allergy injection area designed to maximize patient safety, a friendly and well-trained staff and extended clinic hours for patient convenience. Their mission is to provide high-quality specialty care to patients in a cost-effective and efficient manner. The physicians and staff take pride in their reputation as a patient-friendly, respectful and comfortable office. They listen to their patients, focus on their symptoms and develop individualized treatment plans based on their problems and needs. They continuously strive for improvements in patient care and make patient satisfaction a priority. In addition to their clinical work, the physicians also conduct medical research in an effort to help develop and expedite innovative new treatments for patients. The Allergy Asthma Research Institute was established in 1997 by N. J. Amar, M.D., CPI and conducts clinical research trials and follows the highest ethical standards and guidelines established by the FDA, IRB’s and sponsors to protect the rights and welfare of subjects in research. Safer, more effective treatments at the forefront of medicine are being developed, and AARI is proud to be a part of the innovative new treatments and medications that are being made through medical research.
