Embrace contradictions and throw out convention this season as the latest trends pay homage to the rock-and-roll era with a modern twist. Timeless structured striped shirts can pair with trendy cropped fringed sweaters, and flashy metallic can become the new neutral. Mix unexpected statement pieces with cozy classics — faux leather leggings transform a sweater into a piece of luxury. Mixed materials and moody colors give your look a powerful, refined edge. Discover your own style by pairing looks you already love with the season’s hottest trends.

Originally from Orange County, California, Tori certainly embodies California cool. We’d like to make her an honorary Texan for life — we think she is as sweet as southern sweet tea.

Q: What brought you to Waco?
A: My husband goes to Baylor, and I am getting my Christian counseling degree from Liberty University online. It’s a great opportunity to do all of my schooling online but still get the college experience.

Q: What do you do?
A: I’m a full-time student and a manager at Common Grounds. I also do photography as a hobby, and I’m starting to do calligraphy for weddings.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of living in Waco?
A: I love the large local community that participates in local events, so you get to see a lot of the same people. I love getting to know those people and getting to bond over living in a town that is bustling and up-and-coming.

Q: Where is favorite place to shop in Waco?
A: I love H&M and shopping at local thrift stores. I love pairing clothes that are not necessarily still in fashion with current things to make the whole outfit fashionable.

Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: A mix between a modern and retro ’80s. I wear a lot of high-waisted [clothes] with puffy shirts.

Q: What is your favorite fall accessory?
A: Boots and flannels for sure.

Q: What’s your favorite trend this season?
A: I like that the color cranberry is in because it’s one of my favorite colors.

Q: What was your favorite item you wore during the photo shoot?
A: I loved the green sweater with the leather pants look. It totally fit my personal style. I’d wear that every day if it was socially acceptable and weather-permitting.
