Wrist & Hand Center of Waco

Subspecialty in Certified Hand Surgery

The Wrist & Hand Center of Waco is poised to care for all of your upper extremity needs using the most technologically advanced and minimally invasive means available. The center has Spanish speaking medical assistants to better serve the community. The hand is both complex and delicate. Not only does it function as a versatile tool, it is a way we interact with our environment. Dr. John J Faillace is an orthopedic hand surgeon treating adults and children for conditions of the upper extremity such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, trigger finger, traumatic injuries and congenital abnormalities. Many of these conditions can be improved or resolved without surgery. One example is the enzymatic treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture in the palm and fingers where a simple office procedure with injections has the success of surgical intervention. Dr. Faillace can perform minimally invasive surgery of the wrist — wrist arthroscopy — to diagnose and treat some conditions. He also holds several patents for devices used to treat conditions of the upper extremity including a memory metal staple for limited wrist fusions and an artificial bone replacement for arthritis at the base of the thumb. After medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Dr. Faillace spent 14 years in the U.S. Army. Dr. Faillace began serving the Waco area in 2007 and is proud to call Waco home. He is a peer elected fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeon and is the only surgeon in the Waco area with a subspecialty certification in hand surgery, which is required for his membership in the prestigious American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Faillace and his wife, Donna, happily work together.
