Owner, Jennifer Wilson
Who would have thought that in 1997 when a vision for shopping in Downtown Waco came to life, it would turn into one of Texas’ No. 1 shopping destinations? Twenty years later, the creatively inspired entrepreneur, single mom and the owner/founder of Spice Village, Jennifer Wilson, has continued to turn that vision into a brand and a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Jennifer provides creative entrepreneurs a place to set up shop and sell products without having to handle the day-to-day operations of a retail business. Jennifer and her team tend to more than 70 individually owned shops in a 30,000 square foot space on the second floor of River Square Center. The balancing act of running a successful business and being a mom to an energetic 10-year-old is not for the weak. If you have ever met Jennifer and spent time with her, you will immediately see that she has a passion for her son, family and her ever-changing business. Her patience and tenacity have been crucial in making her business what it is today. When she has a vision or an idea, she will not stop until it is complete. Jennifer isn’t afraid of hard work and continually strives to be the best, and it shows in her determination to keep Spice Village fresh and to make it a place where shopping is fun. By creating unique displays and offering talented tenants to carry the coolest stuff, her goal is to make each visit different from the last. It’s this fun philosophy that keeps customers coming back. The next time you find yourself wanting something unique for your home, trendy to wear or the perfect gift, check out the collection of shops at Spice Village in the Downtown Waco.
