Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute

Home of Dr Pepper

The Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute is the home of the nation’s oldest major soft drink – Dr Pepper! Invented in 1885 at the Old Corner Drug Store in downtown Waco, Dr Pepper is now one of the most popular soft drinks in the world. The Museum is an independent, nonprofit organization and is not owned or operated by Dr Pepper Snapple Group. A board of directors carries out the Museum’s mission and vision alongside a professional staff and many generous supporters and donors. More than 1.5 million people from around the world, including 25,000 students who have participated in free enterprise educational programming, have visited the Museum since it opened in 1991. This year the Museum celebrates its 25th anniversary with the opening of the Emerson Holt – Ted Getterman Exhibit gallery, a new gift shop, and new soda fountain spaces. There is so much more to enjoy for the next 1.5 million Dr Pepper fans who visit Waco!
