In 1917, three lawyers in Waco, Texas, created the law firm now known as Naman Howell Smith & Lee, PLLC. Today, Naman Howell has 62 lawyers in six Texas cities, Austin, Fort Worth, Harker Heights, San Antonio, Temple and Waco, serving the needs of local, state and national clients throughout the State of Texas. Major practice areas of the firm include administrative law, utilities, environmental, water law, real estate, construction, oil and gas, banking, corporate, eminent domain/condemnation, employment law, employee benefits, general business, litigation, toxic tort defense, public finance, products liability, transportation, taxation, estate planning, probate, guardianship, elder law and family law. The firm is committed to legal education. The firm’s attorneys meet or exceed the State Bar mandated requirements for continuing legal education, attending legal seminars and conferences throughout Texas and frequently throughout the United States. Members of the firm are frequent speakers at seminars for other attorneys as well as for certain segments of the business community. The firm regularly sponsors seminars for the business community and for the firm’s clients. Several members of the firm are adjunct professors of law. Involved members of the local community, Naman Howell attorneys are active in civic and charitable organizations, have served on various boards and committees and are active in the local, state and federal bar associations. The Waco offices of Naman Howell Smith & Lee, PLLC, with 35 attorneys and 42 support staff, moved in October 2009 to the Roosevelt Tower at Fourth Street and Austin Avenue. The firm occupies four floors in the Roosevelt Tower.
