What is Best of Waco?

The Best of Waco is a survey conducted by the Wacoan, Waco’s magazine. It asks readers to identify their favorite businesses in four categories: food, professionals, products & services and entertainment.

There are so many categories in the survey. How many do I have to answer for my vote to count?

Please try to provide answers for roughly 50% of the categories. Take your time and have fun knowing your votes matter!

Why do you need my email address?

We ask for a valid email address for verification purposes only. We take this survey seriously.

What happens if I attempt to cast multiple votes?

If you cast your vote more than once, we throw all of your votes away. Please vote only one time.

Can I still vote if I don’t currently live in Waco?

Absolutely. After all, you’ll probably be back sooner than you think.

If my business is within one of the categories, is there a way to buy votes to help me win?

No way, José!

Are hard copy ballots available?

Nope. Just online.

Do I have to advertise in the Wacoan in order to win in my category?

As much as we love our advertisers, this has no bearing on survey results. Readers decide who wins. Period.

Why are some categories split into “Local” and “Chain?”

It’s simple, really. If a local business wins a category outright, then that’s that. But if a chain or franchise edges that local business out of an outright victory, then we recognize our local winner as well.

So what sets Best of Waco apart from other surveys?

A couple of things. Our readers are well-educated and discerning, and like we said earlier, we take the survey very seriously. We don’t hesitate to throw votes away if there is evidence of ballot-stuffing, because we want the results to be honest and valid. Also, let’s face it – not everyone can be a winner. We only give out a Best of Waco award to the business with the most votes in a category. Finally, we will never award a category to the highest bidder. And that, my friends, is why there is only one Best of Waco.

When does Best of Waco voting end?

Cast your vote by March 25.

When will the results be revealed?

Look for the results in our May 2013 issue.
