Welcome to Casa Siluro
Weekend getaway by the lake
When you drive up the road toward the weekend home of Dr. Adam Borowski, you actually come face-to-face with the back of the house. Behind a fence and gate, the lake house faces north toward the water and the impressive view. When I came to visit, a friendly poodle-bichon frise mix named Romeo freely wandered the 3-acre lawn between the house and the bluff, while his owners, Borowski and his girlfriend, Jamie Beauchamp, relaxed on the deck.
Borowski is a doctor of radiology at Providence Hospital and has been in Waco for the past 15 years. A military brat, he was born in Florida and has lived in Germany, Massachusetts and California before finally ending up in Texas. In high school, his father retired from military service and stayed in San Antonio. Borowski ended up attending the University of Texas for undergrad and Texas Tech University for medical school. After completing his residency in Oklahoma City and his fellowship in Galveston, Borowski decided to settle in Waco.
“I knew a couple guys in the practice [at Providence]. We were in residency together,” Borowski said. “I wanted to stay in Texas, and my family was all in Dallas and San Antonio and Austin, so I wanted to stay up and down I-35 somewhere.”
Beauchamp, who is from Dallas, originally came to Waco for nursing school and ended up staying when she met Borowski. The couple met at Providence when Beauchamp was a nurse there, and they’ve been dating for the past four years. She is currently working toward her master’s in nursing through an online collaboration between Academic Partnerships and the University of Texas at Arlington.
The couple’s main residence is in China Spring. The travel time by car to their property on Lake Whitney is only about 20 minutes, making the location a good option for a second home…
